Summary

Incumbents in this positionwill serve as an active contributor to cross-site and/or cross-functional assignments and initiatives; working on high-profile projects, support assignments, and initiatives. The successful candidate will assist project team(s) in improving Simplot’s unique industrial and/or mining process through process systems design and maintenance troubleshooting. Provide technical support to the plant operations group. Work with stakeholders and business unit managers through the planning, engineering and procurement phases of a capital project and will work closely with the construction team to ensure safe and timely execution of projects. Project scopes may include processing vessels, filtration equipment, rotating equipment, material conveyance, water management, structural steel, civil work and equipment design and fabrication as they relate to the Ore Receiving, Water Reclaim, and Gypsum Stack Areas of the Facility.The incumbent is also expected to provide leadership in process, organizational, and personnel improvement efforts. They will also perform at a high level in positively relating to others and positively representing to others the views of their leadership. Help ensure allprocessesare designed and operatedin a safe, environmentally sound, andefficient manner in accordance with applicable laws, rules, andregulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strengthen and improve safety in the workplace through compliance with regulations, policies, procedures, required inspections and training.

  • Participate in and support the CARE about safety program. Encourage others to participate through your support of the program and influence as a leader.

  • Ensure environmental compliance through knowledge of requirements, providing clear expectations and guidance, and maintaining a high level of accountability.

  • Demonstrate personal accountability and ownership, solicit input from others, provide feedback, coach hourly employees, and capitalize on training opportunities.

  • Maintain good lines of communication among departments, crews and other supervisors.

  • Set good housekeeping expectations and maintain standards.

  • Effectively encourage new and innovative ways of thinking.

  • Work collaboratively with Facility Operations, Maintenance, EH&S, Engineering and Reliability Teams as well as Corporate Engineering.

  • Interface with equipment vendors and manufacturers.

  • Participate in and provide operational input on equipment layout and access for maintenance and operational purposes.

  • Participate in and provide feedback on operational risk assessments and process hazard analysis from and operational point of view.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of plant startup and commissioning plans.

  • Review, provide feedback and gain intimate knowledge of the process design basis and plant equipment functional descriptions.

  • Includes review of plant PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layout drawings, etc.

  • Write new procedures for startup, shut down, normal operations, emergency shutdown and LOTO taking into consideration routine and non-routine work functions and maintenance activities.

  • Work with Process Engineering to develop process KPIs, operational targets and tracking tools to ensure equipment operates as designed.

  • Development detailed production plans taking into consideration routine maintenance and schedule maintenance activities for adjacent plant areas.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4-yearcollege/university preferred.

  • Equivalent experience in Phosphate Operations will be considered.

Relevant Experience

  • Experience in Phosphate operations.

  • Strong understanding of area process and equipment.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, power point, word, outlook).

  • Strong motivational, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are a must.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and understand the interrelations within an industrial facility.

  • JDE and SAP experience preferred.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across all departments.

  • Process improvement skills and the ability to teach and coach others preferred.

  • Experience in the successful planning and execution of complex projects, programs, and/or initiatives.

  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
