Summary
This role determines and implements cost accounting procedures and methods.
Key Responsibilities
Prepares monthly product cost reports and standard cost variance analysis summaries.
Performs monthly inventory work order updates and inventory reconciliations.
Performs accounting for cost variances and overhead allocations.
Examines and reviews cost records and ensures cost data is allocated correctly.
Coordinates annual budgeting process with production sites.
Updates standard costs on a regular basis; sets up standard costs for new products.
Coordinates and performs inventory counts with production sites and auditors.
Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entry documentation.
Prepares periodic compliance reports and census survey reports.
Typical Education
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting from 4 year college or university
Relevant Experience
5+ years related experience and/or training

This is a senior-level position to the Cost Accounting job family requiring a comprehensive understanding of Accounting fundamentals and principals. The work is varied and complex. Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity.
